This open call - Deadline: 23rd of October 2024 - invites applications for four fully funded residencies under two EU Horizon projects: deCYPher and Bioindustry 4.0. Three artists will be selected for deCYPher and one for Bioindustry 4.0.
Both projects promote the exchange between artists and researchers in science and technology.

deCYPher combines AI, machine learning, and synthetic biology to develop bio-based production of plant compounds like flavonoids and terpenoids for pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals. More details at deCYPher website.

Bioindustry 4.0 focuses on AI-powered digital twins and federated learning to create efficient, cost-effective biotechnological production processes. More information can be found here.
Each artist will have a 28-day residency in 2025, with additional support for a 2026 exhibition.

deCYPher residencies are coordinated by Bioart Society with partners including Biofaction, Ghent University, Wageningen University, and ML6. Residencies take place at facilities in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Bioindustry 4.0 residency is hosted at Wageningen University’s Institute for Biomanufacturing & Digital Twins, facilitated by Biofaction.
