Hello all! My name is Marisa and I am a multidisciplinary artist and researcher specialising in Medical/Bioart. At the moment I am preparing to start my final project at fabricademy (academy in the intersection of digital fabrication, biology and textiles) and I am really into the theme of the open source body. I decided I want to explore possible applications of crafted, grown, hacked and/or bodily materials in open source healthcare/self care setting. When I say bodily materials I mean using the human body and mining materials from it as source of healing and self care. I am really interested in working with the microbiome and perhaps bacterial dyeing as well as with DIY Biology/synthetic bio so I am getting in touch to see whether I can get in contact with any labs/organisations/citizen science projects or even independent microbiologists or synthetic biologists to help me with my project!
Thank you for taking the time to read this and looking forward to hearing from you!
Hi, I’m Aisen. I run a prototyping Lab in a hospital. Let’s have a chat if you are open. We can set up a meeting vĂa email, mine is acchacin@UTMB.EDU
I am also interested in bodily materials, growing gonads, freeze for future use.
lets set up a call soon to discuss ideas. @aisencc@Mar
we are just discussing a series of learninglabs on reproductive medicine with @Gnip
Hi,
I am also interested in. I mean “we” cause here in Rennes (fr) we are wheeling “health” program outside “institutions”, like “Free Libre Insuline” (inspired by Open Insuline), reverse engineering auto-tests (HIV, COVID, Glucometry, etc) in order to learn how to do build it yourself, “X” shades" of Karyotyping see, so on and so forth. Auto gynecology, body investigation, etc.
ping @lula
Hey, good to hear about the topic!
I also teach in fabricademy and working on a hybrid wetlab here in Milan.
I would like to join the call too and interested on learning about your work, both Marisa and Aisen and Xav and all :))
Best
Zoe
I started experimenting with e-textiles, circuits and biomaterials in december.
I also have an autogynaecology group in France, we hope to get into lab experiments for 2022.
Would love to take part in a call with all of you and learn what other people are up to.
@zoescope è già avviato lo spazio a Milano o parli del fablab ? come ci si tiene aggiornate ? ^^
Hello everyone and thank you SO much for your replies and response! I would like to talk to all of you as I am very interested in hearing from you! My email is m.satsia@gmail.com and I am up for a call on Friday afternoon too. I am based in Spain, Bilbao.
That is amazing! Thank you so much for your reply I am also very interested and been wanting to experiment with e-textiles and biofabrication. I would love to hear more from you.
Thank you for your response! I have posted my email below and also @dusjagr has proposed a call for Friday so hopefully we can all talk together then. Would love to hear more.
Ok @dusjagr I’m in anytime that works for you on Friday. Will you set it up and invite us? aisencc@gmail.com or acchacin@UTMB.EDU
Looking forward to it!
Thank you for being interested. Actually that special issue is call for papers.
We can submit our paper to the special issue which will provide “Hacking friendly” reviewers
Please let me know if you have already decided the time, I am in Denmark.
Hello to everyone .
I.m working for years now in autonomous gynecology explorations, I.m super interesting to visit other projects/ labs that want to move forward on that topic. Looks like dreams becoming true finally ! Let’s meet and make radical things as look into our inner body ohhhhh ! Me interested on some ideas from an old project how to make your on trans organs and into gonadarian disolution as statement … Sometimes super precise some times super speculative … Moving in different entanglement worlds.
Hi, I am also very interested! And there are also other possibilities for measuring health effects like HRV, chemical sensors (cortison) or day blood Spot tests.
So talking about the microbiome topic, (connected e.g.with stool transplantation) there are some great kaboratories like Biovis in Germany. But there are also possible connection with a research group working with epigenetics (healthbiocare a spin off of the University Vienna) and supplements.
For treatment options, from a Extertal source, it would be interesting to include mushrooms (.e.g. Chaga, Reisen, or fermented shitake Mushrooms (AHCC),
Hi all, I am also interested in this, format is open (in direction of demographic data stories 3d live coding for West Euporean population)…
cheers & take care @vali_ship
Nice to see a growing interest on these topics.
I suggest this Friday, a call ca 90 minutes to introduce ourselves and see where our interests overlap and collaborations might flourish.
