Hello all, I will be in Zurich this coming Sunday and into Monday, Mar 23. I’m seeing some older posts about the open science lab perhaps meeting on Mondays and was wondering if there was any kind of gathering planned.
I founded the Grow Lab at Central Saint Martins (University of Arts London) back in 2019 and it has become a great example of how we can run crossover spaces between art, science and design. Happy to share some of what we did there.
I’ve now moved to Geneva and have been interested in building a new lab in the area. I went on a “raising interest” tour last year, including to the University of Arts Zurich where I gave a talk to department heads about the idea. They liked the idea but lacked funding for a position (the usual). They were in the middle of putting together a small lab there, actually, so the movement seems to be picking up speed. Still feels slower than it should be given we’re already over 25% into this century.
I’d love to meet the bio-curious, the builders and the tinkerers behind some of these great spaces and ideas. If not this Monday, then some time soon!
